Rosamund Pike
Born in London
in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actor. She was the sole child to a
classical violinist mom Caroline (Friend) and an opera singer father Julian
Pike. Because of their jobs, she spent her childhood touring around Europe.
Pike was born in Bristol and went to Badminton School. She then began acting at
National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in the National Youth Theatre
production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by an agent when
she was observed. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. The
film she made her debut in was a high-budget action film. However, her later
films were mostly independent films such as Promised Land (2004) and The
Libertine (2004). In 2004, she won the award for Best Supporting Actress prize
in The British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005)
included Pike as one of the Bennet girls. After a brief time in Hollywood, Doom
(2005) and Fracture (2006) was her next film. She returned to film with impressive
performances in three of the smaller films. She also appeared in Johnny English
Reborn (2011) and the sci-fi action Wrath of the Titans (2012). She was back in
action films as the female lead alongside Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
