Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-learn techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. The chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also studied Italy's culinary tradition and culture, and the surrounding environment. As a youngster, growing up in the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her when she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America student. I loved every minute of it." I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduation, chef Burrell was able to spend a full period of time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. The chef gained an appreciation of Italian culinary and cultural traditions while in Italy, which has influenced her cooking style. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids who have challenges. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion, and also shares her experiences in the food world, as she regularly is in the United States for the roles of mentors and speakers. Anne has, through her whole culinary journey has stated that it is a privilege to be able to share this passion for food with other people.
