Milena Govich
Milena Govich, director and actor, has
directed many episodes of TV such as Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021),
FBI: Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) among others. Milena was the
Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf’s CBS show FBI (2018) and is currently
in the process of completing two pilots. Milena was selected as one of eight
directors for AFI's highly acclaimed Directing Workshop for Women. Unspeakable
was her TV show as well as a short film. The show starred Jeff Kober and Laura
Vandervoort The film won the Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International
Film Festival as and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. The short
film she made, Temporary (2017) has been shown across the United States and has
won the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark Comedy at
Atlanta ShortsFest as well as the Director's Choice Award at Sedona
International Film Festival. As an actor Milena has appeared in over 100
episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love
Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of
Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Also, she was a part of the Dick Wolf series
Conviction (2006) that led to her role as the initial and only female detective
on the Emmy-winning series Law & Order (1990). She has appeared or
recurred on numerous other shows, including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders
(2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) as well as in the role of
Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena was also seen in a
variety of movies including Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011) with
Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She also
starred opposite Method Man. A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was
valedictorian at her high school. She then completed an undergraduate degree in
both vocal performance and pre-med, with minors in dance and violin at the
University of Central Oklahoma, also graduating valedictorian. After graduation
she benefited from her classical ballet background to appear on Broadway in the
production of Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall of 'Cabaret' at Studio 54.
