Sofia Margarita Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara is a Colombian-American actress and a presenter. Vergara was the highest-paid actress in American television from 2013 between 2013 and 2020. Vergara rose in prominence when she hosted two programs on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the early 1990s. Her first notable acting job in English was in the film Chasing Papi (2003). Later, she was in Four Brothers (2005) and Tyler Perry's comedy films Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009) which earned her an ALMA Award nomination for the later. She first made her mark as Gloria Delgado–Pritchett for ABC's comedy series Modern Family in 2009. In the role she was honored with four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. Her voice-over roles included Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also part of The Emoji Movie (2017). The five siblings of her and many of her cousins were known as "Toti". Vergara was a dental student for three years at the National University of Colombia, however she decided to leave just two years away from finishing her degree to pursue opportunities in modeling and show business.
