Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn, born May 12, 1972 is an American actress. She is most well-known for her role as attorney Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), for which she was twice winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress for Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She has also appeared on the NBC series Whitney (2011-2013) and ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004) as well as TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native, was born May 12, 1972. Her mother was the executive secretary of the United States Navy, her father was an agent of the Naval Investigative Service. The family lived in Washington, D.C., Arizona, Japan, and was frequently moved throughout her early years. At a very young age she was inspired by her grandparent and grandmother to learn about drawing, painting and architecture. As she pursued her love of the visual arts, she discovered an interest in acting. She was also introduced to modern theatre in college. In 1994 she graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. Seehorn started her career in college as an actor and was inspired by her acting professor. She was employed in ancillary positions within the industry of theater in D.C. to try to get noticed. She was able to secure some important roles in local theater productions. But she had to work odd jobs to survive. To pay her bills she took on the roles of short industrial instructional films. Soon she began to be involved in more TV productions. Her role was often compared to Bea Arthur, whom she described as "very funny," "sarcastic, and very intelligent" women. A majority of these roles were cancelled after only two or three seasons. Seehorn was chosen to play Kim Wexler in the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul in May 2014. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler, who is a lawyer , and also the love of Jimmy McGill/SaulGoodman (Bob Odenkirk).
